Recorded live at Boston's Jazz Workshop in 1967, The Sorcerer showcases virtuoso guitarist Szabo (a veteran of bands led by Chico Hamilton and Charles Lloyd) at the top of his game on a diverse program featuring standards ("What Is This Thing Called Love") and pop hits ("The Beat Goes On") as well as the original, psychedelic-tinged jam "Space." Verve By Request Series features transfers from the analog tapes remastered.
