The Weekly Drop

Every week behind the scenes, we're busy ordering and listening to lots of new music to bring you a carefully curated selection of new additions to the shop. The Weekly Drop is our way of bringing our new additions to the shop, to you.
Audio Sets
"I want to start listening on vinyl but don't know where to start with the player". How many times have we had that conversation in the shop?! So here we are, aiming to simplify that process for you. Each box set contains everything you need to start listening to your favourite records; turntable, stylus, amplifier, speakers and cables.
The Listening Room
We are excited to open the doors to our new listening room downstairs in collaboration with our friends at Audio Note. Designed with creativity, flexibility, and community at its heart, this is a welcoming space to explore, enjoy, and share great sound together.

Welcome to Capsule Records

At Capsule Records, we strongly believe in the power of music and community. As an independent record shop, we started with the local area in mind. Since then, we have been on a mission to foster a musical community and make the joy of music accessible to all.

Our stock is a carefully curated selection of LPs that we love. From soul, jazz, disco, electronica, and hip-hop to some bits in between, there’s something for everyone. For those who like to dig deeper, we also have crates like African Funk, Japanese Jazz and Modern Classical.

To help you discover something new or find an old favourite, we’ve stuck QR codes on the front of all our LPs that direct you to a listening link with information about the artist and label. If you’re without a phone, just ask, and we can play it for you on our tailor-made PMC sound system. So, take a seat in our beautifully designed coffee area, enjoy a drink of your choice (we also stock alcohol!) and relax.

As well as vinyl, we also retail a carefully selected range of audio sets in our purpose built listening room.  With a set to suit a variety of home set-ups and budgets, each box set contains everything you need to start listening to your favourite records; turntable, stylus, amplifier, speakers and cables.

“Capsule Records are a breath of fresh air. Hugely knowledgeable, with a terrific collection of proper music, they go to great length to curate just what is right. My go to place!” - Dunstan Rickard
