2026 marks the tenth anniversary of Big Crown Records. A lot can happen in 10 years, and a lot did. From very humble origins, Big Crown has become one of the most respected independent imprints in the world with an incredibly talented international roster and an incomparable catalog of timeless music. Leon Michels & Danny Akalepse opened the doors at Big Crown in 2016 with a simple ethos: put out good music they believe in regardless of genre.

Moussolou is the debut album by Malian singer Oumou Sangaré, recorded in 1989 and released in 1991. The title means ""Women"" in Bambara, signalling the album's central theme from the outset. Many of the songs draw on Sangaré's own experiences as a woman in a male-dominated society that continues to embrace polygamy.
Better Living Through Chemistry wasn’t just Fatboy Slim’s breakthrough - it helped redefine what electronic music could be in the mainstream. Released in 1996, the album arrived at a pivotal moment in UK club culture, fusing big beat, acid house energy and sample-heavy experimentation into something irreverent, accessible and unmistakably British.
Mr Bongo reissues, in full for the first time, a pioneering Trinidadian steelband album from 1979 - masterminded by the key and highly influential calypso / soca steelpan player, Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, Phase2 showcases Boogsie's innovative fusion of jazz, funk and Caribbean rhythms in stunning style.
