Artist: Various Artists
Genre: Soul
Label: Ace
These 24 gems spread over four sides of vinyl or one CD give us a wide angle perspective of Weller's listening habits and include Charles Sheffield's 'It's Your Voodoo Working', Candi Staton's 'Too Hurt To Cry', Garland Green's 'You Played On A Player', Millie Foster's 'Love Wheel', Bo Diddley's 'Road Runner', the Cookies' 'Chains' and the Mystic Moods' 'Cosmic Sea'.
As Weller states in his introduction, "I hope you enjoy this compilation, it's the sort of thing I would have made up on a mix-cassette 30-plusyears ago. Some of it you will know, some maybe you won't. It's not about point scoring anyway, it's only about how the music hits you and affects you.
