Ware was developing the album when Diana Ross requested a track for her brother, T-Boy Ross; then Motown boss Berry Gordy decided it best suited Marvin Gaye, resulting in Leon giving Marvin a full album, I Want You. Ware then started over, creating this companion album, a sensual mix of soul, funk, jazz and what was about to become the foundation for disco. Available on 140g high-quality virgin vinyl.
About the artist
Leon Ware (February 16, 1940 – February 23, 2017) was an American songwriter, producer, composer, and singer renowned for his innovative and prolific compositions, particularly of R&B and soul music. He often worked behind the scenes, where he wrote and produced hits for other artists including Michael Jackson Quincy Jones, Maxwell, Minnie Riperton and Marvin Gaye, co-producing the latter's seminal album I Want You.
