Winning a local talent contest led them to record ‘She’s Not There’ (and it’s B-Side ‘You Make Me Feel So Good) and then The Zombies were off and running…’She’s Not There’ reached Number 12 in the U.K – helped by a thumbs-up from George Harrison on T.V’s influential Juke Box Jury. The Zombies fast became one of the biggest bands of the mid-60s. In 1967, a new deal found them at Abbey Road, while in the studio next door The Beatles were fashioning Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Released in 1968, ‘Odessey & Oracle’ is widely hailed as one of the key albums of the late 60s – and was ranked No. 80 in Rolling Stone Magazine poll for the greatest albums of all time.
About the artist
The Zombies are an English rock band formed in St Albans in 1961. Led by keyboardist/vocalist Rod Argent and lead vocalist Colin Blunstone, the group had their first British and American hit in 1964 with "She's Not There".
