Jamilat Reprise

A stunning, floor-focused reimagining of Lebanese icon Yasmine Hamdan’s acclaimed sophomore album, Al Jamilat. Where the original record masterfully balanced timeless Arabic vocal traditions with acoustic-electronic pop poetry, Jamilat Reprise blows the doors off the gallery, sending her haunting melodies straight out into the late-night ether.

Crammed Discs has assembled an absolutely stellar international crew of underground heavyweights to reconstruct these tracks. The results are hypnotic. Parisian dynamic electronic outfit Acid Arab injects 'Café' with their signature, slow-burning desert house heat. Chilean maverick Matias Aguayo strips down the title track into a sparse, glitchy rhythmic groove, while Berlin techno stalwarts like Shed and elegant German ensemble Brandt Brauer Frick introduce driving club dynamics and sophisticated, modular dancefloor minimalism.

It’s a deeply atmospheric, multi-layered journey that honours the emotional weight of Hamdan’s classical Arabic roots while entirely reshaping them for the modern audiophile space. Atmospheric, driving, and beautifully global. Essential listening for fans of Leftfield, dynamic global beats, and boundary-pushing electronica.
