About the artist

Duke Pearson (1932–1980) was a highly influential American jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. As a foundational figure for Blue Note Records in the 1960s, he shaped the label's hard bop sound while writing enduring standards like "Jeannine" and the gospel-jazz hit "Cristo Redentor".
