Live at The Earl of Old Town, October 24, 1967 - RSD26

Artist: Terry Callier

Genre: Soul

Label: Time Traveler Recordings

Release date:

For the first time ever, experience Terry Callier as few ever did: live, raw, and on the brink of greatness. Captured in 1967—predating his cult-classic debut The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier - this intimate, previously unreleased live performance reveals a young artist already operating in his own universe.

These 1967 live tapes—unearthed from a private archive were recorded by Joe Segal in Chicago at The Earl of Old Town Club in 1967. Showcasing Callier's distinctive blend of folk, soul, and jazz in its purest form. His intricate guitar work, luminous voice, and spiritual depth are presented in stunning clarity, giving both longtime fans and new listeners an unfiltered glimpse into a foundational moment in American music history.

Transferred from the original tapes and restored and mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. The limited-edition 180-gram 2-LP edition includes an extensive booklet with rare photographs, newly commissioned liner notes, and testimonials from those influenced by Callier.

FAQs

Any stock left over after the weekend will be made available online at 6pm on Monday 20 April. Not before.

No! No matter what your particularly unique set of circumstances are that mean you can't make it on the day (!) we are not allowed to reserve stock for you. Please don't as us to.

Nope. Records will only be available on the day on a first come first served basis so get to the shop early to avoid disappointment. We will look after you! Anything that does not sell will be available on our website afterwards.

We won't know how many titles we will have (vs what we've ordered) until the boxes turn up in the week of RSD.. We won't be able to predict when items sell out either.

To avoid people reselling online for a higher price and to make sure everyone gets what they want, we are limiting customers to one copy of any one LP.
