About the artist
Black Jesus Experience are a Melbourne-based, large ensemble (often 9–12 members) that blend traditional Ethiopian song, jazz, funk, hip-hop and groove. They bring Ethiopian musical heritage into a contemporary context: the vocal traditions, scales, and rhythms of Ethiopia meet funk, hip-hop, jazz improvisation.
