In 1991, with the help of Ice Cube (also as executive producer) , Del released his debut solo album, I Wish My Brother George Was Here, at the age of 18.
The album was a commercial success largely due to the popularity of the hit single, "Mistadobalina".
The title I Wish My Brother George Was Here is a reference to George Clinton, whose music was an influence on Del, as well as to the late pianist Liberace who would on occasion openly pine for his brother George to appear on Liberace's television program in the mid-50s.

A brand new & exclusive vinyl including 1 track from the upcoming DRIFT project by Renaud Letang + 1 vinyl only track featuring Seu Jorge.
---> A side : Working On Me ft. FEIST, PHILLIPPE KATERINE, JAMIE LIDELL, BENNY SINGS
This track is part of the album. It will be released digitally a few weeks before Record Store Day + included in the album vinyl release in June 2025.
---> B side : Papaya ft. SEU JORGE
This track is an exclusive, it’s not part of the album. Renaud Letang is one of the most prestigious music producer in France. He started as sound engineer in the 90s (mainly with Jean-Michel Jarre), before becoming a producer. Since then he has worked with the greatest, from Charlotte Gainsbourg, Seu Jorge, Amadou & Mariam, Saul Williams, Jarvis Cocker, Denai Moore, Connan Mockasin, Chilly Gonzales, Philippe Katerine and many others… and had four Grammy Award nominations for Feist album.
His own project DRIFT started with Renaud exchanging music ideas/work with Chilly Gonzales. All the creative process is the result of Renaud and his longtime friendship with Feist, Connan Mockasin, Chilly Gonzales, Jamie lidell, Saul Williams, Benny Sings, Mocky, Philippe Katerine, Infinite Bisous, and trust in the work they have shared in years.
This is a very organic project – a real collective canvas - where all the featured artists have been participating actively (and willing to be involved in the release of the album). It is a work between friends who are not afraid of showing ego can be on the side and expressing vulnerability (like you can hear also in some of the lyrics), which is what creativity requires. Most of the songs have been recorded at Studio Ferber in Paris.

On the sleeve notes, Ray Nkwe the producer and the President of the Jazz Appreciation Society of South Africa writes "This is the LP that every jazz fan has been waiting for" and Ray was not wrong, it's a stone-cold timeless jazz classic.
The Mankunku Quartet's 1968 album Yakhal' Inkomo clocks in at just over 30 minutes of jazz perfection. This compact, and to-the-point, album would sit comfortably in amongst some of the best works in the catalogues of any of the quintessential jazz labels such as Blue Note, Prestige and Impulse. Half-speed mastering at Abbey Road Studios.

Delicious Vinyl presents this key material from Jay Dee’s output in a never before issued and not to be repeated random coloured vinyl assortment. Shortly after Jay Dee’s younger brother Illa J’s solo debut was issued on Delicious Vinyl, the label and the artist knew the next step in honouring Jay Dee’s legacy was to issue the complete instrumentals from Yancey Boys as a stand-alone release. This mother lode of previously untouched (at the time) beats dates as far back as Jay Dee’s time working on the Pharcyde’s sophomore album, 1995’s Labcabincalifornia. As Delicious Vinyl owner Michael Ross explains, “From ‘95 through ’98 Jay Dee was my go-to guy for hot beats and remixes. He was always making beats, always. So there was a select amount of tracks that he composed for me during that time, tracks as good as anything he’d done, only they never got used.” Once these beats were used for Illa J’s Yancey Boys they were presented to the public on Yancey Boys Instrumentals.
