Leaving behind their early ska days they had yet to settle into the slower tempos which were used more common in the mid-_„ƒ70s. As a result, music here generally gallops, and vocals fall in line. As heard on gems like‘_Koo Koo, Got To Feel, and‘_Pee Pee Cluck Cluck, the Maytals_„Ž lyrics tend mostly towards love and the pursuit thereof. The recording quality is outstanding for the era, and some of their most explosive tracks can be found on this record.

The Maytals, known from 1972 to 2020 as Toots and the Maytals, are a Jamaican musical group, one of the best known ska and rocksteady vocal groups. The Maytals were formed in the early 1960s and were key figures in popularizing reggae music.
