All imbued with a contemporary edge and an intellect that keeps things as far as is possible from lazy wallpaper wank. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eJ Swinscoe is more the arranger\/conductor here than the producer, but of course, there's little need for samples or effects with \u003cstrong\u003esuch an accomplished band\u003c\/strong\u003e sharing the burden. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor the opener \"All That You Give,\" Swinscoe \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand Co., plus\u003cstrong\u003e harp player Rhodri Davies\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, spend a few minutes delicately paving the way for a deeply felt vocal by soul hero \u003cstrong\u003eFontella Bass\u003c\/strong\u003e ((the writer and performer of '60s soul masterpiece \"Rescue Me\" and member of free jazz renegades the Art Ensemble of Chicago)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. \"Burn Out\" is a \u003cstrong\u003elush, meditative track \u003c\/strong\u003ewith a pleasantly ambling solo from Phil France \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eon electric piano, a few appropriately cinematic-sounding horns, an age-old vocal sample, and occasional creaking static phasing through. Bass\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e returns for another splendid track (\"Evolution\"), and the mighty \u003cstrong\u003eRoots Manuva \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eappears on a \u003cstrong\u003emagisterial, spoken-word quasi-autobiography, \"All Things to All Men.\" \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Every Day is a\u003cstrong\u003e textured, acoustic work\u003c\/strong\u003e; Cinematic Orchestra take their time setting up these songs -- of the seven tracks, four last over nine minutes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo sit back, close your eyes and be prepared to enjoy the latest home movie from J.
