One moment, you’re rooted in the familiar terrain of jazz lineage and soul tradition; the next, you’re somewhere else entirely — somewhere luminous and governed by possibility. Rose doesn’t merely revisit Sun Ra compositions; she dismantles and rebuilds them according to the frequencies she hears in her own spirit. Caribbean Serenade belongs to the latter - one of those rare recordings that draws you in immediately: warm, unforced, and nostalgic.

It is the sonic equivalent of a golden Caribbean evening, an intimate serenade that feels like an invitation and a meeting point between roots reggae & rocksteady, with the richness of swing-era horn writing, capped off by classic dub remixes.

It’s an organic synthesis that reveals a combination of musical languages rarely heard in this form. At its core is a 20-year bond between Martin Mayr (Roots Organisation), Mauricio-Jorán Ceseña and Jannis Klenke (The Black Oak Roots Allstars), alongside aDUBta - the producer and multi-instrumentalist who helped shape the album’s sonic identity.

Distilling decades of mutual trust into a showcase that feels both effortless and precise, Caribbean Serenade brings back a shared musical language and intuition spanning more than two decades.

Recorded at Attic Roots Studio, The Black Oak Roots Allstars provide a tight, organic rocksteady foundation, allowing Mayr’s compositions to flourish. Picking up the saxophone and flute for this record, Mayr contributes his deep passion for arranging. His writing is a cornerstone of the album’s identity: warm, fourpart horn arrangements shaped by jazz and swing traditions, where the horn section leads. The arrangements are further elevated by Simon Kintopp’s trombone solos and Fabian Supancic’s gritty, bluesy organ. Ultimately, aDUBta’s production brings every element into sharp focus. Fusing his signature blend of emotive electronica, immersive sound design and club-focused energy, the project captures Max’s ability to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and deeply human storytelling. Featuring exclusive material alongside carefully curated selections, the mix places him alongside previous fabric presents contributors including Daniel Avery, Overmono, Helena Hauff and Mount Kimbie, while pushing the series into new sonic territory. Leading the accompanying EP is Flecks, a collaboration with LSB that pairs fast drum & bass breaks with Max Cooper’s unmistakable immersive production. Referencing the iconic Hurt You So break, the track fuses old-school jungle influences with a modern, spatial mix, hypnotic synth lines and subtle vocal fragments draw the listener deeper into its expansive soundscape. Also featured is Bredren’s Hash (Max Cooper Remix), a tension-filled drum & bass track built around distorting basslines and constantly evolving movement. The EP's focus track, AO, sees Max Cooper reunite with Rival Consoles for a more introspective moment. Swapping high-tempo breaks for a slower electronica and house framework, the track unfolds through beautifully detailed percussion, organic rhythmic textures and sweeping synth melodies, culminating in a soaring central passage that showcases the pair's shared gift for emotionally resonant electronic composition. Originally released only as a now long-sold-out 7 inch on Mad About Records, the track has become one of Kobayashi's trusted secret weapons, championed by discerning selectors including Darryn Jones and Red Greg. Built around Alves' dazzling synthesiser work, "Theme" finally gets the wider audience it deserves. The EP's first exclusive arrives courtesy of D. Apal, instrumentalist and member of Norway's Flammer Dance Band. His only solo release, issued on the band's Lysketrekk Records, has become a cult favourite among adventurous record collectors. Batov now unveils the previously unreleased "60 Meter'n (Rytme)", an extended instrumental dub that strips away the vocals to let the handclaps, cavernous bassline, dub effects and wonderfully eccentric synthesisers breathe, transforming an underground favourite into an irresistible dancefloor weapon.

Side B opens with YĪN YĪN's "Tokyo Disco", taken from the band's acclaimed third album Mount Matsu on Glitterbeat Records. Since then, he has hosted the band twice on Soho Radio and supported them live in London. "Tokyo Disco" perfectly captures YĪN YĪN's distinctive blend of Japanese-inspired psychedelia, Southeast Asian influences, post-punk funk and shimmering disco grooves, making it a natural fit for the Give Me Disco series.

Closing the EP is another exclusive from Jiri Jiri, whose contribution helped launch the series on Vol. 01. Equal parts soundtrack and dancefloor curveball, it provides a fitting finale while offering another tantalising glimpse of what's still to come. With two exclusive cuts sitting alongside two carefully chosen modern classics, Give Me Disco Vol. 02 is another lovingly curated snapshot of DJ Kobayashi's musical universe: borderless, groove-driven and unapologetically built for adventurous DJs, discerning collectors and open minded dancefloors alike.

TRACKLIST:
A1. Recorded live on March 5, 1977, at Pease Auditorium in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the performance featured the three musicians playing an immersive hypnotic set, joined for part of the evening by the rest of Oregon. Long circulating among a few Don Cherry fans, the full concert is now available as a deluxe, remastered 2-LP gatefold set featuring Moki Cherry artwork and new liner notes by Jason Weiss—licensed by the Don Cherry Estate and producer James Quinlan. Don Cherry’s huge influence has steadily grown over the years, as fans and new generations of listeners continue to uncover the vast breadth of his global musical vision. Sunrise captures Cherry during a particularly fertile late-1970s period, when the American jazz trumpeter blended global and Eastern spiritual concepts into his "Organic Music" philosophy, drawing deeply from Eastern and African traditions. Moving fluidly between trumpet, the West African doussn'gouni (a traditional hunter's harp from Mali), bamboo flutes, percussion, and vocals, Cherry creates a deeply resonant world music soundscape.

Recorded live on March 5, 1977, at Pease Auditorium in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the show took place just a month after Don Cherry participated in the recording of Collin Walcott's ECM album Grazing Dreams. With Walcott playing alongside Cherry and vocalist Leon Thomas, bringing his unmistakable yodel-style vocal approach—and joined for part of the night by the rest of Oregon (Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless and Glen Moore)—the performance stands as a stunning, hypnotic forerunner to the formation of CODONA. The newly remastered audio is so vivid and intimate that it feels as though you are sitting directly in the room with the musicians. The release also serves as a vibrant homage to Don and Moki Cherry’s creative partnership, featuring a reproduction of Moki’s striking 1975 Mandala tapestry on the front cover. The concert was produced by James Quinlan, a central pillar of the U.S. Jazz and World Music scene who worked as a sound engineer for Carla Bley, booked Fela Kuti’s major U.S. tour in the 1980s, and went on to direct the Creative Music Studio and found Miami’s Rhythm Foundation. In the album's liner notes, Quinlan reflects in conversation with writer Jason Weiss on the surprise magic of that night:

"Don brought Leon Thomas with him... as a guest, unannounced. It was not part of the advertisement or contract... I don't know of any other time that they recorded or performed together. So, that was completely unique... The audience had no idea what was coming... It was a sound that was just mesmerizing, almost like a mantra." Licensed by the Don Cherry Estate and James Quinlan, Sunrise is available as a deluxe 2-LP gatefold set featuring new liner notes by Jason Weiss—an essential document in the rich, ever-evolving Don Cherry musical journey.

TRACKLISTING

SIDE 1
Sunrise (23.11)

SIDE 2

2. This reissue is the album's first official release out side of Japan. He could be compared to Agatha Christie with his series of novels based on the adventures of detective Kosuke Kindaichi. The fictional character was born in 1946 with Yokomizo's first novel in the series and solved mysteries until the late 70s under Yokomizo's pen before the death of the writer in 1981. Kindaichi is a peculiar character. He is a sort of goofy, yet scrupulous detective, not dissimilar to Columbo, and has become legendary in Japan over the decades. Yokomizo's novels have been a prime source for film and TV scenarios, so when, in 1977, Japanese label King Records decided to record a concept album based on the Kindaichi novels, it made complete sense. The writer was slightly surprised though. As he wrote on the back of the LP sleeve "When I first heard an album was being made based on my novels, I felt very strange. I could understand if my novels were turned into films and then soundtracks were recorded based on these films. But this time, the music created was directly inspired by my novels. I felt very intrigued, yet very excited. "The concept album was arranged by pianist Kentaro Haneda, a key TV and film composer who has worked on many anime films and is also famous outside of Japan for composing the music for the video game 'Wizardry'. For "The Adventures Of Kindaichi Kosuke"album, he assembled a supergroup of some of the best Tokyo funk and City Pop musicians. The long list includes jazz pianist Hideo Ichikawa who played on the 1971 'Joe Henderson In Japan' album, Jun Moriya (ds), who is on Joe Hisaichi's cult 'Wonder City Orchestra' album,Tadaomi Anai (perc) who played with Disco singer Eri Ohno, Koji Hadori (tpt) who's featured on Haruomi Hosono's "Pacific"album. Changing homes, cities, schools, and horizons has shaped his worldview and fueled a body of work deeply informed by themes of displacement, transformation, and belonging. With APUAMA, his second album, the Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist delivers his most personal work to date: a collection of songs exploring how we each construct our own sense of home through the encounters, departures, and returns that mark our lives. Driven by sensitive songwriting and organic production, APUAMA navigates a landscape of contemporary MPB, tropical folk, popular poetry, and Brazilian acoustic influences. From one song to the next, Matu charts an intimate journey where saudade is never synonymous with stagnation; instead, it becomes a driving force that compels him to move forward, discover, and forge connections. From the radiant landscapes of "É Bom Voltar" to the existential inquiries of "O Que Será de Nós"—and the poetic manifesto of the title track, "Apuama"—the album tells the story of an artist learning to turn every place he visits into a form of home. The album also features notable collaborations with two of the most distinctive voices on the new Brazilian music scene. Singer-songwriter Josyara lends her sensitivity to "Céu Azulzin," while Chico Chico joins Matu on "Estética da Fome," a track inspired by major Brazilian cultural and social reflections. These collaborations extend the` collective spirit that runs through the entire record and highlight Matu Miranda’s ongoing dialogue with his artistic generation. The sound production was helmed by Leo Marques—a producer, sound engineer, and musician recognized as a key figure in Brazil’s independent music scene. Marques notably won a Latin Grammy Award for his work on the album Sim Sim Sim by the group Bala Desejo, one of the most significant Brazilian records of recent years. This approach gives APUAMA a warm, vibrant, and timeless sound, allowing the songs to breathe and highlighting the richness of the acoustic arrangements. More than just a collection of songs, APUAMA is a journal of an inner journey. It is an album that speaks of movement, memory, nature, and the passing on of things—reminding us that, beyond borders, distances, and absences, there is always a place where one can feel at home.

TRACKLISTING

Oração ao sol de amanhã
Reza braba
É bom voltar
Cantarei até o fim
Céu azulzin (Feat. Not to be outdone, Greece’s favourite dance duo Boys’ Shorts add magical disco touches and reimagine the original as an eight-minute balearic opus.

Featuring beautiful artwork and a premium poly-lined inner sleeve, the 12" has been cut to vinyl for the discerning DJ and listener by Grammy-nominated Frank Merritt from The Carvery, London.

TRACKLISTING

Side 1

Pawa!
Pawa! We would do two or three pieces that were just strung together, one right after another for the whole concert, and we would make this wonderful, wonderful composition.” Jeremy Erwin has described the one-continuous-piece-of-music set they played in Vienna in October 1969 as “supremely weird” starting with “one of the more abstract versions” of Bitches Brew. Given that Miles was sharing the bill with Lionel Hampton and Duke Ellington as part of George Wein’s Newport Jazz Festival in Europe tour, it is perhaps not surprising that a large part of the audience walked out during the first ten minutes. But those who remained went on to witness a shining Wayne Shorter quoting from Super Nova throughout on Agitation; a slow-burning, fifteenminute version of Miles Runs The Voodoo Down, and a classic set-closer I Fall in Love Too Easily/Sanctuary. In Erwin’s view “the bandleader knew that a dose of serenity was the only resolution to a set as batty as this one.” The ‘never-recorded Lost Quintet’ that toured Europe in October/November 1969 had spent the preceding August rehearsing and recording a new double LP set Bitches Brew, within a kind of rock big band lineup. But here there was no John McLaughlin on guitar; Wayne Shorter was on saxophones, Chick Corea on Fender Rhodes, Dave Holland on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums. This Quintet did record for Columbia in November 1968 but the session was not issued until 1981 on the Directions album.

TRACKLISTING

Side 1.

Bitches Brew.
Agitation

Side 2.

Miles Runs The Voodoo Down
I Fall in Love Too Easily
Sanctuary

The album brings together influences, including Nils Frahm, Fabiano do Nascimento and even label mates Jasmine Myra and Portico Quartet, with childhood memories that bridge Manchester’s mill towns and cosmopolitan Accra. It’s a harmonic exercise in togetherness from an artist who could otherwise have simply organised the music around his spectacular guitar playing.

This atmospheric debut album combines evocative contemporary ambient, jazz and folk traditions, where electronic elements infuse improvised, conversational music performed by an acoustic ensemble made up of longtime friends. It’s a supremely confident approach. Moments Brighter Than The Sun is the product of deep talent and years of honing emotive musicality. Born in Ghana, Rory Green spent his toddler years in England before the family returned to Accra, where they stayed until he was seven. Back in the UK, the family moved around a lot, mostly in Manchester. Whilst he rejects the assumption that he should sound a certain way simply because of his dual heritage, he has brought the sonic world of his childhood into the music – and he has done so on his own terms of engagement. “My earliest memories are living in Ghana. I remember there was a lot of afrobeat and hi-life, in the shops or in people’s cars, and the huge talking drums on Labadi beach. Or Pink Floyd’s ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ which my dad would play all the time at home.”

Moments Brighter Than The Sun was recorded with his ensemble in Manchester. Having already laid down his guitar and synthesiser parts he drew the assembled saxophonists (tenor and soprano), double bassist and drummer deep into the stories and meanings in the mostly instrumental set of songs which themselves draw on deep emotions.

The album was produced by Rory Green alongside Gondwana boss Matthew Halsall, who plays flute – a new instrument for the musician better known as a trumpeter – on the title track. Green crossed paths with Gondwana initially through loving the releases, particularly Mammal Hands and pianist Hania Rani. Meeting Matthew Halsall in person at Jasmine Myra’s debut album launch in 2022 began a process that led to his signing.

TRACKLIST:
A1.
